CONSER is continually meeting new challenges
and setting new trends in the area. Below are a few case studies where our excellence has more than proven itself.
Case 1 : Durability Concrete During
the execution of the prestigious Metropolitan City Center in Lebanon,
it became apparent that the massive structure, including the large banquet
hall and shape of the building, in relation to the substantial investment
being put in by the owner, warranted a long term quality conscious approach
in its construction. Whilst the regular standard for the concrete that
was being used in Lebanon was sufficient, it lacked certain elements that
CONSER felt were necessary for the durability of the project. Added to
that, was an acute shortage and price rise in both concrete and steel.
The challenge was how we could meet the designed strength and durability
of the structure without increasing the costs of construction much further.
At that point in time, CONSER put a team of material
experts, headed by our founder Mr. Azmi Haroun, and researched a host
of alternatives. The result was a blend of Micro Silica Fumes and Concrete
in a certain way that gave sufficient strength coefficient to the concrete
with less actual material used.
After successful testing of the mix, in both local and
international laboratories, the ensuing concrete formula was published
for use with other buildings in the area, and has become a new standard
to be used by both consultants and contractors in the area.
Case 2 - Alignment Selection It takes
special skill and years of practical experience in a variety of terrains
to be able to stand atop a mountain or hill, look down on the unfurling
landscape and visualize the way a road will pass. CONSER is proud to have
people with such a skill at its helm. Whilst there are many technological
aids that have been devised to help in such a task, the human ability
to look at a terrain and form a 3D image in ones head seems to always
win hands down. Add to that local expertise in terms road usage and an
awareness about the amazing developments that are happening in the area,
and CONSER becomes the ideal partner to countries that need to develop
both its internal and national road networks.
Case 3 - Recharge Dams. Any project
that pays a third of its cost back in ONE DAY is a phenomenal one. Such
was the case after one day of typical torrential rains in the Northern
Emirates of the UAE, where within that location CONSER had 48 Recharge
Dams of its design and supervision in place and ready to accept the massive
flows of water. After the rain subsided
